Dr. Pamela "Pam" Moran
Dr. Pamela Moran has served as Superintendent of Albemarle County Public Schools since 2006. Dr. Moran is Past President of the Virginia Association of School Superintendents, Women Educational Leaders of Virginia and The Virginia Association of Science Supervisors. In 2017, 94.7% of the students who entered Albemarle County high schools in the ninth grade received their diplomas in four years compared to the national average of 81 %.
The Chair of the Albemarle County School Board said, “The true test of leadership is the ability to make the lives of those around you much better, Dr. Moran has done that throughout her career in education”. Another person nominating Dr. Moran wrote, “Dr. Pam Moran is always an example of a mixture of dedicated work, happiness, and excitement. When it comes to education, Dr. Moran has always placed importance on what is best for others”.
